The Living World Icebrood Saga chapter “Shadow in the Ice” brought many new things to the game, including a staff which looks like a fishing rod. Learn how to unlock the fishing rod staff in GW2.
NOTE: This is a skin for a staff (weapon). It is not a fishing rod for the fishing skill introduced with the End of Dragons expansion pack.
Unlock the Fishing Rod Staff
In order to unlock the fishing rod staff, first you must complete the new Reel it In achievement by earning gold in 20 kodan ice fishing events in Bjora Marches.
After you complete the achievement, you can buy the staff from Humble Stone, a kodan karma merchant who is located in Spirit’s Refuge. The staff costs 250 Eternal Ice Shards, plus 2 gold.
About the Fishing Rod Staff
This level 80 exotic staff is called the Still Waters Fishing Rod. It features a cheerful yellow and red-striped fishing lure, and has very nice animation of the fishing line.
The Still Waters Fishing Rod staff is an exotic-level weapon, has two upgrade slots, and Power/Concentration/Precision/Ferocity (Diviner’s) stats.
