“I bet the fishing hamlet would be a nice place to fish,” I thought. “So calm and off the beaten path.”
“What a lovely place to – AAAAAAA WHAT IS HAPPENING”

“WHERE IS EVERYONE? Am I going to have to defend this fishing village on my own? Should I just run away?”

I probably should have run away, but I stayed and fought off the naga attack for two reasons:
- I felt weirdly protective of these fishing village NPCs.
- The only way I’ll get better at fishing is if I increase my Fishing Track mastery, and the only way to do that is to earn XP, and the only way to do that is to, like… do stuff. So I did stuff.
Perhaps in recognition of my service, or perhaps because I was literally the only player there, I later won the fishing derby. Confetti time!
Of course, some fishing spots aren’t as scenic. Just for fun, I decided to try fishing in Fuller Cistern for the Ascalon Fisher daily.

Ah yes, there’s nothing like being out in nature, the breeze in your face, the prospect of fresh fish for dinner swimming just out of reach!
